Installation
How Long Does Countertop Installation Take?
See what happens before, during and after installation—and which decisions can keep an Atlanta countertop project moving smoothly.
In this guide
The physical installation may take a day for many straightforward kitchens, but the full project includes cabinet readiness, templating, fabrication, scheduling and utility reconnection. Complexity and material availability determine the actual timeline.
Before measurement
Cabinets should be fully installed, level and secured. Final appliances, sinks, faucets and cooktops should be selected so openings and clearances can be documented accurately.
Between template and installation
The fabrication team confirms the layout, cuts and finishes each piece, prepares openings and coordinates delivery. Custom edges, full-height backsplashes and difficult materials can add time.
Installation day
Clear pathways, protect pets and remove items from nearby cabinets. Installers will position pieces, complete seams, secure the countertop and review the finished fit.
After the surface is installed
Allow adhesives and seam materials to cure as instructed. Plumbing, gas and electrical reconnects should be completed by the appropriate qualified professionals.
Frequently asked questions
Can counters be measured before cabinets are installed?
Early estimates can use plans, but final fabrication measurements should use installed cabinets.
Can I use the kitchen immediately?
Follow your installer’s curing and reconnection instructions before using sinks, cooktops or unsupported areas.
What commonly causes delays?
Unlevel cabinets, missing fixtures, changed layouts, material availability and complex fabrication details can affect timing.
